Howl (Oscilliscope Pictures)Peter Richter reviews Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman's Howl. The film, about poet poet Allen Ginsberg, focuses on how this one-piece seminal work broke down societal barriers -- and the infamous public obscenity trial that followed.


James Franco is terrific. The film, according to Richter, less so. Howl is currently playing in theaters. Read the review.
